This Indenture made and entered into this
twenty first day of February AD 1855 between
Leonidas Polk and Francis A Polk, his wife of
the City of New Orleans and State of Louisiana
and A Hamilton Polk and Emily Polk his wife
of the County of Bolivar and State of Mississippi
parties of the first part, James H Yerger
of the County of Washington and State of
Mississippi of the Second part, and William
B Miles and Daniel W Adams of the City
of New Orleans and State of Louisiana part-
ners in trade under the name and style
of Miles & Adams of the third part, Witnesseth,
That for and in consideration of the sum of
ten dollars by the said party of the second
part to the said parties of the first part, in
hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby ac-
knowledged, and for the further considera-
tions hereinafter mentioned _ The said
parties of the first part have bargained,
sold, aliened, conveyed and delivered and
by these presents do bargain, sell, alien, convey
and deliver unto the said party of the second
part, his heirs or assigns, all that certain
tract or parcel of land, lying and being
in the County of Bolivar and State of Missis-
sippi and known and described as the
South half of Section Eighteen, The south
west quarter of Section Seventeen All of
Section nineteen, All of Section twenty, all
of Section Twenty one, except one hundred
and sixty acres, owned by Dr. Thomas S
Polk, The North west quarter of Section
