D.T. Scott, Nashville, Tenn., to Bishop Polk, re: his plans for bring {sic} help and
supplies to Swanee {sic} for the celebration; asking the Bishop to aid him by writing
Mr. Stevenson to persuade him to give passes on the railroad to the servants and
other people who wish to come; his anxiety to cut expenses where possible and his
feelings of responsibility in arranging everything to the satisfaction of everyone. 3
