the University Place and the only difficulty
now remaining is to arrange
for their passage up and back on
the R. Road - Mr. Stevenson has just
returned and I saw him this morning
upon the subject. He says he will
pass me and my hands free one
way and you must pay one way -
I think if you will write him immediately
on the subject you can get
him to pass us free both up and
down - this he ought to do [illegible]
he will arrange with the Sewanee Road
to run up an extra train in the
morning and return in the evening of
the 10th, 11th & 12th. By this arrangement
a large number of persons will go
up from Nashville + the country between
this by which the R. Road will be
greatly benefited and Mr. Stevenson [can?]
well afford to pass all of our own
force over [free?] for this occasion -
present these facts to him and you
will accomplish the object -

I expect to come up on Monday
or Tuesday next myself - I feel a
heavy responsibility resting upon me
and I wish to see that every thing
is arrange to carry out your views
