WEDNESDAY 1
Circumcision. Bank Holiday in Scotland
Rose 10:30 : G Taylor & I went into London; showed me how overseas troops are entertained. Went to Theatre where we saw "Queen of my heart". Had dinner at Lyons, then returned back to Fairlawn Mansions. During afternoon: George showed me his souvenirs of air raids in vicinity of his home. Yarned until 7 pm at which time we sat down to a ripping dinner. I then bid good bye & set out to King's Cross where I caught tram & met Jim 10.30 to Edinburgh so night was spent in travelling.

THURSDAY 2
Arrived Edinr. 8.30 had shave & brushup, & breakfasted at restaurant in Princes St. Jim & I then strolled around & had look at places of interest. Met Bill, Jack, Dorothy & Micky on 12.35 train from N'cle had dinner at Royal Hotel then proceeded to Edinburgh Castle, where a guide showed us over all places of interest including the Scot. C. jewels. Returned back to Princes St where had supper, then caused great amusement by capsizing in the dining room. After supper tried to get seats at Theatre but failed, so we had a second supper. Then proceeded to Miss Minnie's, obtained room for the girls, & the four of us managed to squeeze into the ancient drawing room.
