THURSDAY 2
As weather is getting very warm I slept on deck. Turned out at 6am had my morning shower then took morning exercises. Attended french class during the morning. Also during the afternoon. Washed clothing before dinner. After tea I wrote letters etc.

FRIDAY 3
Heavy storm broke during the night with the result that I had to cope down below at the 'but' [?]. Passed Cape Verde islands at noon. Baths erected on deck well patronised by the troops. Attended French Classes during the morn.
