Robert Fitzhenry requested the remission of his property taxes since he was not a resident of the City. The Committee on Judiciary reported that he should pay property taxes since he voted in the previous City election. The Committee offered that if he isn't considered a resident of the City then he should be charged for fraudulent voting. The report was adopted. See full description in Digital Collections

Mr President: Your committee on Judiciary to whom to whom was referred the so called affidavit of Robert Fitzhenry for Remission of taxes. Your committee have had the same under consideration and we find their being no seal attached as required by law that the said affidavit is of no affect whatever. If Mr Fitzhenry was living as his clam onthe first day of April last as he claims he was by this so called affidavit andhe being a registered voter on the same day of the City of Seattle - Mr Fitzhenry is liable to prosecution for fraudulent voting at the last election. Mr Fitzhenry can not be a resident voting at the last election. Mr Fitzhenry can not be a resident of the county and the City Both at the same time. And your Committee recommend that the remission of taxes not be granted. Report Adopted A S Miller chairman Frank A Pontius W H Bogardus committee
