The Committee on Fire and Water made recommendations on how to improve the Fire Department. The recommendations included that permanent locations should be provided for all the fire companies in the new Fire Department. The engine house for the Chemical Company was to be built on donated land at the corner of Broadway and Terrace. See full description in Digital Collections
