Seattle, Washington, July 17, 1891

To the Honorable Chairman and Board of Public Works of the City of Seattle.

Gentlemen:- We, the undersigned, free holders, residents and property owners upon and near the Western shore and Northern shore of Lake Union in the City of Seattle, would respectfully represent to your Honorable Body that we are greatly in need of better facilities for approaching the City of Seattle than now exists. That certain individuals of Fremont and the City of Seattle, together with other parties intereseted something like a year ago contributes a large amount toward the building of a roadway along the Western shore of Lake union from the end of Rollin St. to the then town of Fremont, which has now become a part of the City of Seattle. That with such subscription said roadway was constructed to the then Northerly limits of the city of Seattle, and partly constructed from that point North to the town of Fremont, but that the County of King having failed in contributing to the completion of said road, along that part which was then outside of the City of Seattle, the said road-way never been completed, and is at present in such an unfinished condition that it is of no benefit to the public whatever. Wherefore, your petitioners would pray that your honorable Body would cause said roadway to be completed, and thereby furnish to the public in general and to your petit-

Gentlemen, In reference to the Petition of W D Wood and 250 others for completion of road along the west shore of Lake Union. Your attention is directed to the fact that a lien on said road exists to the amount of $6000. and before taking final action o the petition it must be sure to investigate the legal complication which might result therefrom.
