Towit: In favor of adoption Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald & Rasin

And now the Council proceeds to consider an Ordinance entitled. "A special Ordinance appropriating money to pay "audited bills" Thereupon the same is adopted upon the following vote, Towit: In favor of adoption Cosper, Clancy, Gasch, McDonald & Rasin Against adoption none.

Ordered that the Committee on Public Buildings, Property & Grounds be & they are authorized to fill in the Jail Portion of new City Engine House as they may see fit.

Ordered that the Council stand now adjourned until Monday October 9, 1882 at 7 o'clock p.m.

Be it remembered here that on this the 9th day of October, 1882 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in it's Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment.

The following Officers are present, Towit: His Honor the Mayor H. G. Struve and Councilmen John Collins, O. F. Cosper, Charles F. Clancy, Fred Gasch, G. L. Manning & N. M. Rasin

Thereupon the following proceedings are had

Reports Received

From City Surveyor on the matter of the petition of S. F. Coombs et al for certain changes in Front Street Grade recommending that no action be taken. Adopted

Reports of Committees Received

From Public Buildings, Property & Grounds recommending that no further grading be done on Union Street at present unless a petition is presented by a majority of the property owners to that effect. Adopted

COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CCITY OF SEATTLE.

Oct. 9 '82

R. [Scot?] et al reccommending that the Surveyor make & [plan a terrain?] for certain [manner] of grading on 3rd Street & that the Specific= =cations be amended. Adopted except as to amending spec= =ifications.

From Streets & Street Improvements on the petition of H. G. Struve et al for grading Pine Street from Front to middle line be= =tween Front & Second Streets, recommending that a [graded?] district be made from said Pine Street to Mill Street composed of all half blocks. [Recommitted?]

From Streets & Street Improvements on the petition of August Hess for certain improvements on Front Street, stating that the complaint has been remedied. Adopted

From Streets & Street Improvements approving the reports of the Street Commissioner & the City Surveyor on the Front Street Grade & the 2d 3d & other Streets Grades. Adopted

From Streets & Street Improvements on the petition of August Hess et al with reference to the removal of earth from Pine Street, recommending that the petition be denied. Adopted.

From Streets & Street Improvements rejecting all [bid?] for Washington Street Grade. Adopted.

Ordered that the Contractor D. S. Hill for King Street side walk under Ordinance No. 302 have further time until November 10, 1882 in which to complete his contract.

Ordered that the Contractor J. J. McGilvra for 7th Street side walk under Ordinance No. 303 have further time until November 10, 1882 in which to complete his contract.

An ordinance is presented entitled "to amend Section Three "(3) of Ordinance No. 246". referred to Finance Committee

Ordered that the Clerk be & is hereby instructed to defer advertising for bids for Washington Street Grade under Ordinance No. 301 until after the next meeting

From Eliza A. [Diggs?] et al for opening Wall Street [from?] Water to Front and Vine Street from Front to City Boundary. Referred to Committee on Streets and Street Improvements.

From the Columbia and Puget Sound Railroad Co. et al for the grading of Jackson Street from the West side of Second Street to Elliott's Bay. Referred to the Judiciary & Legislative Committee with instructions to submit an ordinance to provide for the improvement.

Reports of Committees Received

From Finance approving Treasurer's Report. Adopted

From Finance recommending the adoption of an ordinance to amend Section 3 of Ordinance No 246. Adopted

From Streets and Street Improvements [condeming?] side walk fronting Lot 8 in Block 37 of Boren's plat. Adopted

From Streets and Street Improvements on the matter of grading a portion of Pine Street. Laid on the table

From Gas Lights recommending the placing of a Gas light on corner of Mill & Terrace Streets. Adopted & Committee instructed
