COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE

Ordered that the Council stand now adjorned.

May 29 /84 On this 29th day of May 1884 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in it's Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment as a Board of Equalization. Present: Councilmen Thos Clancy, B.F. Day, Chas McDonald, B.L. Northrup, Otto Rauke & F.W. Wusthoff. [Because of?] the absence of his Honor the Mayor, Councilman Chas McDonald is appointed President of the Council to serve during the meeting. And now the Council proceeds to the examination and equalization of the Assessment Roll for 1884, Ordered that the following changes be made in the assessment Roll Kenny's assessment, towit:

On Lot 5B 30 Terry's raised to $19.00 8B 30 (Terry's raised to) $15.00 [Easlim?] Addition reduced to $100.00 per lot Lot 1 B 37 Maynards to [$400.00?] 2 B37 to $350.00

P.D. Hamlin On Blk 36 Maynards $4000 2nd Blk 37 to $500 3 & 4 Blk 38 to $1000

James Campbell on Blk 23 [Naigles?] reduced to $16.00

James Dougan In Northern Addition except Blk 29 reduced to $40 [portion?] Ordered that Blk 2 & 3 [Nob Hill?] addition be reduced to $100 per lot

P.R.L.G. Pratt on 12 acres reduced to [$500?] per acre

And now come further complaints being [made?] against said assesment roll [and said roll?] being found to be [correct?] it is Ordered that the said assessment Roll be

June 6/84 Be it remembered that on this the 6th day of June 1884 The Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in it's Council Chamber pursuant to law. the following Officers are present, towit: His Honor the Mayor H.G. Struve and Councilmen Thos Clancy, B.F. Day, Geo. W. Harris, John Keenin, Charles McDonald, B.L. Northrup, Otto Ranke, M. N. Rasin & F. W. Wusthoff Thereupon the following proceedings are had;

Petitions Received: From E. Calvert et al for a rebate on a/c of Batter Street Grade. Referred to Street Com tee From H. A. Atkins for extending Sewer in Columbia Street. Referred to Sewer Com tee. From C. & P.S. R.R. Co. for vacating plat of Lake Side addition and for approving replat of the same. Referred to Surveyor From H. L. Yesler et al for opening 8th & Alder Streets, Referred to Street Com tee From Blanchard & Smith for transfer of C.H. Hill's Retail license. Referred to Com tee on Licenses. From A.E. Stetson et al for remitting the fine imposed upon L.E. Ackley. Referred to Judiciary Com tee. From Margaret Harmon for repairing Columbia Street, Referred to Street Com tee
