Extremely icy and slippery. Went
to Aquilla's for the last time I hope.
Went to Sandy Spring. Ernest here to
dinner. Edwd. Hill called. After
tea Charley went to Riverside.
Did not get home until 11.30 p.m.

20 Cloudy Saturday, 11 N.E.

Drove to office & Ashton had "Betty"
"roughed" all around,. Afternoon sent Willie
to Schofield's for butter. Warner Cook
called, trying to get his son out of jail.
[Jus] Ed Hill called after tea.

20 Snow Sunday, 12 N.E.

About home all day. Jim Jackson
dined here. J Bentley & Harry Lee called.
Snowy & disagreeable all day.

19 degrees Clear W.
January Monday, 13 1879

Went (in Express wagon) to Ashton King's
office, & to Riverside, brought sleigh run-
ners from there to Marlow's shop.
About home all the afternoon. W. J.
Scofield called at office.

31 degrees Cloudy. Tuesday, 14 S. E.

Went to ofice. Brought sleigh runners
home from Marlows to have
them slightly altered before they
are "ironed." Afternoon J. M. Smith called.

32° Cloudy & Clear Snow Wednesday, 15

Went to office. Rebecca Johnson sent me
75 cts (on account). Frank Cook called.
Commenced snowing at 2.30 p.m. Went to
Mrs Scott's.
