Ther. Tues. Jan. 1, 1895 Wea.

Still quite cold. I drove over to
Riverside to see Bro R. first going
to Fletcher Clarks & got 1 1/2 bushels
of coal. The sleighing is excellent.
Stopped at Ashton & had two
new steel shoes put on "Frank's" hind
feet. Reached home at 2 o'clk p.m.

Ther. Wednesday 2 Wea.

Edwd commenced school again.
I drove up to Brighton & dined
at E Peirce's. Afternoon Willie
& Fanny came to spend the night
here. We received (by stage &
express) a box containing a
nice "dressed" turkey and a lot
of "link" saussage etc. from Charley.
After supper I walked up to the
P.O. & mailed a postal card to
Charley. It commenced snowing
fast about dusk & is still coming
down at bed time.
