The Enerprise Club met at the house of N S Brooke 11 m 9th 1878 with nine members present, an increase of one over our last meeting here. Granville Fanguhar was chosen foreman, After reading the minutes of the last meeting here, we took a short walk to the stable, Hog range for feeding, where we saw some fine hogs, and back by the spring house & through the garden, After reading the minutes of the last meeting, the following questions were asked & answered.

1. Has the time come for reducing the wages of farm hands. came up from last meeting. An interesting discussion was had on this subject. and as near as I could tell the prevailing opinion was that the price paid for labor is as low as the hands & their families can live upon.

2 Is it necessary to put sheep under cover this early for comfort.

Ans. It is not, but they should have an open shed for them to go to in bad weather.

3. How to kill lice on pigs

Ans. Grease & kerosene both advised

4. Should I plant fruit trees now or wait till spring

A $65 Authur Stabler suggests that members bring samples of sud corn to next club. {8.}What is the best 3 horse plow. Ans olivios chilled F L Aboore Loundon & Syracuse, were mentioned as the best. {9.} What is the best place to sell wheat. Relay mills for good quality. {10} What to do with Rye that did not come up. Ans. Drill in Rye again. Adjourned to meet at [Granville] Farguhar 12 mo 7. 1878

The Enterprise club met at the house of Granville Farquhar 12 am 7th 1878. Samuel Hopkins was made foreman who after calling for the minutes of the last meeting held at the Ohay house. led us back to the stables to examine the stock, our host still using the old farm buildings.

We saw some fine hogs & cows and several very active colts. the stock looking well & comfortable

Returning to the house the minutes of the last meeting were read. E P Thomas M M Moore & A M Stabler were appointed to meet committees from the other clubs to arrange for the convention of the clubs next month.

It was decided to take the count of crops for the use of E P Thomas who will make extracts [?] from our minutes to be read at the convention, the statement of crops will be found on another page.

P J Stabler reported on spaying calves.

1. I have two calves, what is the best time to [alter?] them. And now.

And no What is the list to put in the bottom of the ice house And share fleed as mush, close the south end & have ventilation at north end What to do with musk rats in an ice hard drain. How much bacon will 200 lbs pork make and at 150 lbs. This was a full meeting with annual guest. Adjourn & meet at the house of R B Farghan Jan 4 1879 N S Bond Inc.
