H/8/1921-1-

The Cedars.
Sept. 6th 1921
AUGUST

Our Vice Pres. took complete change of the
meeting held at Brooke Grove on the afternoon
of Aug. 2nd 1921; by so doing, our Pres. had
an opportunity to play the host which he
did in his hospitable manner.

The opening remarks were very fitting.
Cousni Al said it was a pleasure to come
to Brooke Grove. The place was so lovely -
lovely in summer, & lovely in winter, it
was one of the oldest homes in Sandy Spring,
& was always filled with good family.
At [one?] [time?], the party who lived there around
all the land in sight - as he sat on the
porch of his home the fields were all his
as far as the eye could reach. Brooke Grove
was among the first places in the neighborhood
that entertained the Horticultural.
Following the pleasant remarks of the V.P.
came the reading of the minutes of the
last meeting, they were recorded as read.

Edith Green was appointed to read for
us - now just why she asked her sister to
perform the duty, we do not know - but the
[?] was made, without injury to the [years?]!
