Dear Sir:
Some days since having learned
of your arrival in New York from Europe.
supposed you would go direct to Washington
& wrote, also wired you at that place inviting
you to call & examine my Collection before you
went West. Receiving no reply I immediately
wrote you to the Windsor Hotel N. Y.

When you next pass through our city,
it would afford me great pleasure if you
would honor me with a call, I think I can
show you one of the finest Collections in this Country
comprised of Crystalized Minerals & Chemicals, Geological
specimens, Birds, Shells, Corals, Ivories, Idols, Mosaics
Gems & precious stones & a beautiful collection of agates &
other polished stones - with elegant Glassware &
valuable curios. This Collection has been my life work
collected from all parts of the world and cannot be
duplicated at any price. If you could instruct your
private secty at Washington to call & make an examination &
report to you I think it would prove greatly to your interest &
this could be made the nucleus of one of the finest museum collections
any where found & your magnificent institution, you are erecting, is just
the place for it - Let me hear from you

Very Truly Yours

Henry Claghorn
