Dear Governor,
I informed the [General?] on [yesterday?], that [as?] [expected?] you and Mrs.Stanford here next week, and he expressed a wish to see you. He is [very?] sick with periods of [exaltation?] and depression from the nature of the disease. At this writing, he is somewhat [relieved?], but as [for?] the reaction, I hope you may get here and see him in his better [state?] so that you can [?].
