Dear Doctor
I enclose you Osgoods report and also a letter from Mr. Reid Muybridge has commenced a suit by attachment in Boston. Levying on all the books and charging that shows by the publication of the book imagined his professional reputation. He wants damages to the extent of $50000 and claims that the idea of taking photographs of horses in motion originating with him and not with me and that I set up that claim in the book
When I just spoke to Muybridge about the matter. He said I could not be done

I insisted and he made his trail. He has often state I this to others and I think there will be no difficulty in defeating his suit and showing that his merit such as it is was in carrying out my suggesting. You will probably remember his having said so to you as he was in the habit of saying so often to others [K?] I think it was completely set first in the sketch that he gone at one time to put into the book as an appendix. I thin the farm we have given him has turned his head. I think of going east about the fruit of next month. If you have any suggestions to make in regard to the book or other matters. Please let me know and I will [enderson?]
