Dear Sir,

Your letter of the 30th march with enclosure from Mr. Holly With regard to the construction of glasses for telescopes is received.

I read Mr. Hollys letter with a good deal of interest ut while I could appreciate in part the importance of the objects sought the merits of his proposal plan are entirely beyond my capacity to critique

It seems to me that if his theory is a good one those men engaged in the business can [reliably?] appreciate its advantages and find the requisite capital to make the tents

I do not think therefore that I would come to make the investment in order to test Mr. Holleys theories.

I know that you will be pleased to hear that Mrs Stanfords health is improving and her cheerfulness
