Cazenovia March 12th 1845
Dear Brother
Your letter of the 9th inst was received last evening. It enclosed a ten dollar note.
You desire to know how much more I shall want. In a letter to Philip a few days since I stated the requisite sum also the time in which I particularly wished it. I suppose probable you have not seen the letter, but no matter I have not really needed the money though I do not know how soon I may and wish therefore if convenient to have it sent this week. The sum needed in addition to the $10. is 25 dollars.
I perceive by the wafer of your letter that it has been broken open since its first wafering. You will recollect whether you did it yourself or not. If you did not, probably it would be best to pay double postage on the next. I have nothing further to add. Give my respects to all, I hope soon to do it my self in person.
Yours Leland Stanford.
D. C. Stanford, Albany.
N.B. Let the money come as soon as possible.
