the mountains to the place where they
are building a reservoir for the water
supply of the University. A great
stone wall, perhaps seventy feet high,
has been built from one hill to another
and this is to hold the water which
will come down from the mountains.
Quite a little water is there now and
an old flat bottomed boat was tied
to the bank. We loosened the cord and
I took the old wooden sticks in my
hands and thus Mr. White pressed the
camera button on us. We were likewise
shot sitting on the swing like branch
of a tree. The day was fine and the
air sunshine and pretty hills, comfor-
table vehicle and good company all
combined to make a pleasant occasion.

Last evenign Professor Geo.
E. Howard, who has been elected
president of the U.S. by the students
congress recently organized, delivered
his inaugural address which was received
with great applause.

When we girls came home we
made a collection, consisting of
one can oysters, one can peaches,
plate of crackers, pepper, salt and
vinegar and then we all fell to and
soon they were no more. Then in the
dark we listened to frightful stories
till at last we adjourned to bed.
I slept with Mary Martin as her
mother was away, Minnie got Winnifred
Caldwell to solace her and Winnifred's
room mate also went visiting.
