requiring us to make Mattie's and
Edith's beds for two weeks and also
to turn the mattresses.

The trial came near dissolv-
ing when Dr. & Mrs. Jordan and Dr.
and Mrs. Wood were ushered up to the
parlor but we continued till the
sentence was pronounced.

Friday we had our first
Gymnasium work in Encina gym.
Because it is nearer being ready for
work than ours. Both are ready all
but apparatus. It was rather a novel
and amusing sight to see a long string
of girls in short bifurcated skirts,
learning to march by putting down
the ball of the foot first, then
right face and about face.

We are all to be measured
and have our hearts and lungs tested
and then we shall have to take train-
ing to develop our weaknesses and
deficiencies. It is not compulsory
bu most of the girls will take it.
I for one shall. You would think I
needed it if you could see how I have
grown since I have been here. I need
to undervelop, rather than to develop.

Yesterday afternoon Josephine
Gregg and Arthur White, Mr. Harris
of South Bend, Indiana and myself,
pleasantly seated in a two seated
