I have become very good at personal organization. Organized my materials & information. I also write about all of that. I know where stuff is. I will have to merge Chip with me.

On my trip to OSU 6 years ago just about now, my pride went to happiness. Now I am also positively seeing that my driving motivation must be improvement of other lives. The founder of Bank of America states this at the headquarters in San Fran. The movie Star Wars is a good example - it makes people excited awhile. I want to love so well but I realize it takes loving myself, making myself happy, to bring this to fruition. This is what I've learned over last 6 years. Happiness for me over pride.

At the end of this book

I believe I will stop writing a personal diary. It could be used as evidence. But if I keep all of my business ideas out of it then there is no reason to worry. We can hold it back without worry in any court cases.

I will keep a business notebook next year. I will use it after I finish the Lakeside notebook. Or continue to use Lakeside for technical ideas, even after I start a business diary. These two should be sufficient reminiscences! Plus maybe a personal diary with no business stuff at all in it.

Lastly, I just want to reiterate that I should live by the edge, as I said Feb 13. Don't try to itemize goals too much; it can stifle creativity. You want to create some good thing now with what you've learned. Now go do it. END

Thursday, Sept 29

One day left till end of this summer quareter and this book. I still have some things I want to write about. First I want to note that there is little of no writing new about Autobook, Inc It is still being created in my mind and therefore I don't want to be burdened with putting it on paper.

Next, there are money questions and problems. What to do about the Corvette! I am glad I had it for the times I have. Spring 76 with all the ABQ friends. Summer with Joe. And busy for MSoft driving around. Fall, Win & Spr with Chip. And California Summer '77; of course you need a Corvette for that. But it's over now, I think. Yet I don't want to take a loss. I could at most sell it wholesale for $6500. Thus losing $2900 off of 8400 + 400, plus about $1400 in

interest payments. It gets close to a $4000 cost for having a Corvette for 1 1/2 years, regardless of insurance, gas, maintenance, and repairs. I would be left with $2500.

I doubt that the car will ever be worth more than it is right now. The only reason I should keep it is if I really like it and would prefer driving it over later models. But as I look around me, older model Corvettes are not appealing. Even mine doesn't excite me like it used to. If it were in good running order I might like it. I don't know what other car I'd get. The other problem is that insurance will costs over $1000 for the next six months. Next year it would be more like $500 when the car is a year older and so am I.

Basically, the only reason I'd keep it is to have it after I get rich. I don't want to pay for it any more on what

I'm earning now. It is a luxury. After I got rich would I drive it. It would be more of a momento. It would be out of character to drive that car in a year or so. Also, it has some bad memories with it. Also good memories stay good if you remember them as they were, in their prime.

Yet, it still has a lot of good in it, or does it? I've just spent 500 for starter, clutch & general repairs and $350 for a rebuilt transmission plus $60 for some more work. I can sell it with that information to help get more money. Try to avoid getting engine CAM fixed.

If I could get $2500 back which is the down payment, then it has been costing me $227.04 + gas + insurance + $30 for general maintenance + repairs. The extra insurance cost for a Corvette over other cars is about $50/month. So that means I have spent $320/month for that car. Or, over 18 mos, $5700. Has it been worth it?
