I have not paid. That is my tithes. Or 10% of my gross earned income.

When I left for Stanford in Jan 1976 I figured I owed God $1000. Since then I have earned

see July 17 2585 (1st 1/4 76) see last pg 32360 (Apr 16 '76 - Sept 16 '77 4050 taxes for which we deducted) -------- 38995

So I owe the Lord $1000 plus $4000 for the last 1 1/2 years. That is $5000.

Now how much am I worth to Auto Bible. Well, how much am I worth period. In Fall 75, I made the most money. It has amounted to about $9000. Then I went to school. But then I went back to uSoft and worked for 1/2 that much, at 19000/year. Now at RMC I get ~ 25K. I can justify uSoft general manager because I didn't know anything about the business but

I sure wanted to learn. Also I had to wait a bit to get all the money for my work in Fall 75. If I'd gotten paid flat out for it I'd get about 1/2 probably. They paid me only at the rate of $12k/year then, that is $3k for the 1/4. When I was at uSoft, I earned very little for the company, got lots of experience & fun & flights. At the end I was earning $500/week, though since I was doing uComp software.

As a uComp programmer I'd say I have been worth $25k this last year. I saw a report of salaries in Comp World that said the avg senior systems analyst gets 21000. Since I'm specialized I get more. Seems fair.

And at RMC I could justify getting a little less than I should because of the hope of selling EDITX. And uSoft's top guy gets $25K - Greenburg.

I also have training in all the stuff Autobook, Inc needs. And my best thing

I do is program uComps so lets say next year I could get 28000. uSoft would probably offer me that.

So lets say I found Autobook with $5000 of my money and $5000 of the Lord's money, which He has given me. Then we're partners in this equally. I will pay myself all of the money probably that goes in but just to support myself on a minimal level.

Now some other capital has to come about for equipment. Maybe sell my car, hmm?

I feel I can live on $1000/mo, which taxed, is $800 a month. I may need a little from Chip. I got my insurance bill yesterday $1146 for 6 months in the lowest rate class. I'm not going to pay it. So if I don't drive, might as well sell it.

I feel now that I just want to live within my means.

Until I have more money, I don't want to strain the budget. Now I may be moving into a period of work, and out of my time of socially gregarioius fun. I can live ordinarily. Then when we get $$, we can get better things & maybe live in Orange Co.

I went to see O.C. last weekend. Hollywood would be too wild a place to live for a couple. Redondo Beach is too quiet. It is too S. Cal. Very crowded. Sometimes smoggy. I enjoy it but it leaves something in me unsatisfied. So I checked out Newport. Weekend before, I went and saw Newport Station. Looks like a nice group of guys. Not stunning but friendly. Looked around next day & saw EOCOM & Newport Center, which was written up in Busi Week, couple weeks ago. Anyway, this last weekend I drove all the way down to [Lags 7?]. I knew it was very undeveloped on the peninsula so I started at San Pedro. Long Beach except for downtown is very industried. Not nice. No really nice beaches.

If you go down the coast,

it gets very ugly - swamplands, oil fields, even derricks in the water off Huntington beach.

It improves greatly as you drive into Newport Beach, just after Newport Blvd, all the way down ot the edge of civilization just past Cameo Shores. After that it is all of a sudden hills & dunes down to Laguna Beach. But basically that whole little area is nice from Costa Mesa through Newport to Corona Del Mar. It'd be really swift to work in Newport Center, and go out to Newport Station. There is a spa 15 minutes away in South Santa Ana. But it's all expensive. I visited Vinny & Wally. They have a $355 place which would go for $275 in ABQ. With things costing 1/3 more, I know I don't want to pay for it.

So when I returned I decided I will try to go back to ABQ, work with God on Autobook if I get the money. Maybe from EDITX. I told Chip that. He was finished moving out
