Poor Francis Hamilton has had a very
serious illness, but is recovering now
I hope – they are just now in London
I have been going up for weeks but it
seems always postponed somehow
Give my love to your Husband &
tell him I dont forget how kind he
was to little Christian – and do send
me a few lines sometimes dear Bessie
you know how scattered my corres-
pondence is & how difficult it must be
I get charming letters weekly fr dear
Vigants mother. She clings to me & the
Boys so sweetly dear old lady
I dont purpose going to Denmark this
summer. I need a quiet year the
Doctor says – I shall DV. go to Aberdeen
where my Boys have won many
friends who will welcome me with them
Mad. [Madame] Falbe wishes me to do this & lives
in hopes of seeing us in 1874 – again
It is a very formidable journey
