Villa Patrick Bordighera
2 Novr

My dear Emmeline

I hope you have received all
our notes from Folkestone.
Paris – And how last week
I have received your kind note of last
Sunday – and I am grieved to
see how unwell and depressed
you were, and I fear very
much worried by business –
I hope you will be able to go, as
you say for a week to Brighton
the bright air & change of scene
is good for you. And you can go
so comfortably to The Lion Mansion
with Charles as "body guard"!
How I wish I had you here!
I suppose bad weather will come

I had the Bishop of Gibraltar
here yesterday – the little
Church was consecrated
It was so nicely
decorated with white
Chrysanthemums –
Maiden hair fern (which
grows profusely in the
Valois) And white
[indecipherable] blossoms –
All the altar – & railings
It was so very pretty –
They are sadly in want
of friends to finish it
They have called it All saints
and it was consecrated yesterday All saints day We were all
present.
