for Baths for Rheumatic fever - and C & V. [Christian & Vigant]
are to pay visits during my absence –
to Warthill and Elsewhere amongst
my dear sisters belongings –

I have George MacArthurs wife here now
and I am quite enjoying her visit – she has good
letters from him from Massawah [Massawa].
and I hope I shall see Bessie Goldfinch
& her husband during this month –
I am a complete prisoner to the house
from my fever & asthma and I am
altogether very much out of health –
but I hope some of my rheumatism
may be washed out at Contrexéville
I have great faith in those waters
abroad – there are springs in Engld
but the climate is so against the
treatment in my experience –
I fear must go - better to go abroad

your
Uncle Wms
state – and
I imagine
it is similar
Pray keep
what I write
to yrself – for
I have not
said it &
only do so
to you

As having a right
to know what
I know .
