53 Brompton Crescent Sunday

My dearest Bessie

I have just had such a nice Visit
from your dear George & the little Dog Pat!
that I must tell you of him at once –
He is a great fellow, looks so very well
and I see his wrists growing strong with
his height – and he seems so happy and
satisfied and we have been talking of
you all "fast & loose" as the Danes say.
I think it so nice of him to come and
see me . (we made friends at B. Mouth [Bournemouth])
and he has been taking Tea with me now
& says he will come again before he goes back
I cant say how glad I was to see him –
I have been in London for some days – but
I came up so thoroughly unwell (I have
never had a day of feeling well at B Mouth)
and had so much of every sort of thing
to see to – that I had not sent word to
The Crescent that I had come – but intended
to do so tomorrow. I came up without any
servant except Mary Cook to help me
to a Grimy house utterly neglected
