By His Excellency Sir George Gipps Knight Captain General and Governor in Chief of the territory of New South Wales and the Dependencies and Vice Admiral of the same,

Whereas by an Act of the Governor and Legislative Council of New South Wales passed in the Sixth year of the Reign of Her present Majesty Queen Victoria intitaled An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to Courts of Requests "and to extend the Jurisdiction of such Courts in the County of Cumberland" it was amongst other things enacted that every such Court should be holden by a Commissioner appointed by the said Governor Now therefore I Sir George Gipps Knight Governor of the said Territory To David Dunlop Esquire send Greeting; Know You that by Virtue of the power and Authority so in me vested by the said recited Act I have appointed and do hereby appoint you during the pleasure of the Governor of the said Secretary for the time being, and subject of Request to be held at the Town of Wollombi for the Police District of Wollombi and MacDonald River, as described in a certain Notice from the Colonial Secretarys Office bearing date the fifteenth day of September One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty one and Published in the New South Wales Government Gazette, and to exercise and enjoy all powers and authorities and to perform and execute all duties and things which by the said Act are in such Commissioner vested and of him required or which may of right to the office of such Commissioner appertain.

Given under my Hand and the Seal of the Territory at Government House Sudney this Second day of January One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Three --
