Ellis' loss & of the continued sickness at Karnac. What can be the cause of it?

Rutherford was to ship the woman & her children to Texas on Tuesday last, by the Steamer Mexico. She gave him a deal of trouble & was frequently out notwithstanding all his care & attention.

I hear that Franklins will has been broke in Tennessee, thus leaving the whole estate to the widow & child.

Yazoo City Apr 22nd 1853

Dear Sir

The Stock of P.C. [Goerey?] was sold in April 1840 by the Sheriff of this county as I find from the old sales book, but I find no execution in our office under which it was sold, and it must therefore have been sold under an execution returnable to Adams or some other county. His land was sold in Novr 1843 under an Execution in favour of Surget, and this Execution is now in the clerks office of Adams county. It does not appear from the Sheriffs docket here, that any thing but land was levied on in either of Surget's executions. This is all that can be ascertained about it here. Yours very respectfully C.C. Wilkinson
