Some of the most important events from Monowice.
a) There were escapes from the Monowice camp and the punishment varied. If the escapee was caught, the punishment was death by hanging in the roll-call square with the entire camp watching.
I remember two such executions. One was quite disgraceful if you were a Pole. Three prisoners escaped from the camp. I don’t remember their names but one was a Polish Jew [illegible] and two were Polish. One of them was working in the kitchen. I don’t remember the other one.
