The Start [page torn, text from following page visible] Tuesday [September] [page torn] At [Brashwood][page torn] Got up at 7:50 with slight cold. [Ate] a very bum [breakfast], as [nothing] was good to eat. Went to work at [Zorn.] At a good dinner, worked hard all afternoon. Called up Virginia at quitting time and played the buz saw. She got sore because I wouldn't

talk and hung [up] the receiver. Julius came down about 8:15 P.M. I called up Irma Frick and found out my girl for the hay ride on the 4th.
