everything come thru good for him but it will take time before we know the results.

Keep praying for us. I shall do the same for you. Try not to Worry and don't work to [too] hard. I have Met here a Mr. Peterson, I believe that once roomed with your Mother. I told him about her being sick, he say he hope to see her soon.

Dear Madam, Pardon me if I am taking a liberty writing to you, and knowing, - after today - just what a busy Woman you must be, but after reading of your grand achievements, for which I offer my Congratulations - I take heart and pen to you, seeking some information I have failed to find here in Jamesville.

With your knowledge of the Law and being an American, I sincerely hope you may be able to furnish me with the guidance I seek, tho I may add

Dear lady, that should you be too busy please don't be worried if you don't find time to answer this letter, and I shall understand should I not hear from you.

Allow me, if I may, to introduce myself. -- I am John MacMillan, at present of address overleaf, I arrived here in the U.S.A. from Scotland, sixteen months ago, followed later by my Wife and Daughter, and we regard it a great honour and privilege to be here, sincerely hoping to make our home here, and one day becoming Citizens, -- There is so much more I could, and would, like to add with regards to living opposite sides of the Atlantic but time

and space I'm afraid won't allow at present, so I shall get on with the task set out upon.

I am a Carpenter by trade, and was second in charge of a Family Business back home, being in the Administrative side of the [illegible] three years before leaving to seek a new and better life for my Family and myself, other personal reasons for the present I wish to forget, -- anyway I should like to find a job at the building business, whereby I could draw plans, or trace same, such as in an Architect's office or a job where I could write; I am most willing to train for such a job by going to school in the evenings, or by taking lessons at home, still carrying out my present job as a Carpenter during daytime

which no doubt you understand is neccessary [necessary] both to maintain one's family also become established.

I have for some time now been trying to find information on how, and where, to train for a position in Drafting or Architectural work, and am hoping you may be able to furnish such. I understand this may mean moving from Jamesville which I am willing to do, to accomplish my mission. I thank you Madam for your most kind attention, and sincerely hope I have caused no inconvenience, and most of all await your pleasure of answer.
