I have the honor to report that I have this day employed Mr. C.B. Talbot as an additional draughtsman, in this office, and ask that his hire be approved from this date @ $150.00 per month. I also inclose the usual oath of office taken by Mr. Talbot. I shall probably need the services of two draughtsmen for three or four weeks.

Sir: I have the honor to request that the Collector of Customs at New York may be instructed to admit to free entry &c, fifteen cases marked "Lake Huron, Nos. 433 @ 447? containing a third order lens, fixed, 360˚, imported from France for the use of the Light House Establishment per the Steamer "Minnesota"

Sir: I have the honor to request that the Collector of Customs at new York may be instructed to admit to free entry, &c, two cases marked Yaquina Bay, Nos. 431, 432", containing a fifth order lens, fixed, 270˚, imported from France per Steamer "Wyoming" for the use of the Light House Establishment.
