Know all men by thes presents That I Arthur futhy within named doe assigne make over & confirme unto John Petty of south [hold?] in the County of Suffolk on Long Island his Heires and Assignes all my Right title & Interest in the within specifyed Indenture & the Ramainder of the service due to me from Toby Indian within named together with the conditions & performances which are herein expressed the residue of his [Term?] being [nine?] monthes & the Indian [?] charge of the loss of time & Expence in sending

This Instruement of bargaine and sale made this fiftenth day of June on thousand six hundred ninety and too witneseth That Soosoahquo a Sachem on the Island of Nantack =ett have bargained and sold alianed and confirmed and doe by thes presents Bargaine for sell alianate and confirme unto William Gayer of sd Island Esquier Erbidge or pastuerage for on hors with full liberty of pastuering in the Inglish Rights and on my owne lands according to covenant and bargaine formerly made with the fre holders on Nantuckett by thare Agents one James Coffin John Swaine and William Worth and for a vallewable consideration In hand paid the receipt whare of I doe heare by ackowledg to my full sattisfaction and content by William Gayer afore said heare by granting Rattifieing and Confirm=ing unto the sd William Gayer the said Erbidge pastuerage and foodage for on horse to him his heirs and assignes to have and to hold for ever heare by binding me my heirs and assignes for ever to worrentiz and defend said sale of Erbidge foodage and pastuerage on horse against all persons what so ever by from or under me In witness whare of I Soosoahquo have put toe my hand and fixt toe my seale the day and yeare above written

1698 5 April

To all people to whome these presents shall come Josias alias keteanunim the known and acknowledged Sachim of Takymmy on marthas vineyard sendeth greeting -. know yea that I the said Josias alias ketteanumin the Indian Sachim of Takymmy (now called Tisbury, by the English) for & in Consideration of the sum of sixteen pounds money of new england to me in hand paied at severall tims as my nessessity for my maintenance to live on, did Requier, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents by Simon Athearn of Tisbury on marthas vineyard in duks county, weell & truly paid me to my full satisfection & content for ever, by these presents have given granted alined bargained sold and confirmed And do by these presents fully and absolutely give grant aline bargain sell & confirm unto him the said Simon Athearn a certain parcel of land lying & being in the township of Tisbury bounded on the north by the sound, and bounded on the eastward sid by the midl of a pond (at the north shore, comonly called pissee[?] (which pond pissee is a littel westward of the about a mile squar of land, manettouttotan that I formerly granted to the praying men) so the eastermost bounds of the said parcel of land now [sold?] [is?] [by?] a strait line from the midl of the said pond called pissee to run southerly untill it come to a littl bush[ie?] swamp next south east of the now house which said Simon Athearn built on the northeast part of a tract of land near to a place called wampache which tract of land to said Athearn the deed bearing date the 10th: of novembr, 1674 I sold & so the southerly bounds from said littl bush[ie?] swamp to run westerly on the north side of said now house, And bounded on the westerly side by Simon Athearns land - I say I Josias have and do by these presents assigne & sett over all the afore said parcel of land sould & boundedd as aforesaid - with all the swamps woods watters pasturs feilds and all other the appurtain= ances therein unto the said Simon Athearn to him his heirs executors administra tors & assigns to have and to hold for ever. And shall be construed estemed adjudged and taken to be enure to the proper use be hoofe and benifit of him the said Simon Athearn his heairs & assigns for ever from me the said Josias [m?] heirs and assigns for ever; only I do except 24 acres about the spring given to my son & daughter; never lesse the said Simon Athearn doth covenant and agree to and with the above said Josias that if he the said Josias his heirs or assigns shall not well and truly pay to the said Simon Athearn his heirs or assigns the full sum of sixteen pounds in mony of new england at said Athearns house in Tisbury at or before the end of August next after the date of these presents with out fraud of forther delay the these presents to be void, otherwise to stand and be in full power strength and vertue in behalfe of said Simon Athearn his heirs & assigns for ever. In witness where of I the said Josias alias keteanumin hath to these presents subscribed with my hand & put to my seal this fifth day of April the tenth year of the reigne of our sovereig[n] Lord william the theird king of England & . . And in the year of our Lord God one thousand six h[u]ndred ninty & eight
