January 22, 1852 - February 12, 1852

1852 Jany 22nd since the 14th I went to court the coldest
weather I ever saw, one saw & we have filled our
Ice House, went to mill last week got 4
Bus. meal, our cotton Picked & brot Home our
2 Logs sawed into weather Boarding
Kate & Jacob gone to Mr Fitzgeralds to day
we are this day Halling leaves etc etc
5 young lambs to this day & look well

23rd began to Burn mountain Plant Bed Finished
& sewed it on next day saturday except covering
it with Brush Sewed Kentucky Bull Seed there

26 Began to Burn the one in new ground

27 Finished it 20 yds square Sewed my old seed in thatSewed it & covered it
The 26th Halled up 1 Oat stack & one fodder
stack this day

28th Burning plant Bed below second yrs ground
this day - & mill try & sew it this evening
with seed from M. Our old sort finished it
clear & moderate weather the nights cold windy &
we went to Cutting in new ground

30 & 31st Cutting in new ground & Plowed some

Feby 1s Sunday stayed & home quite cool

- 2 Halled leaves & Plowing Tobacco lot
& for corn runing 3 Plows —

- 4 Plowing for Tobacco & Corn & Cutting
gone to mill this morning
White Back Cow, from Poll worshams B[?]
had a calf last Saturday Heifer calf
& we are cutting trying to get down to day
Halled Out load wheat Straw this day
quite cool this morning & like for snow

Febr 5 Sewed Peas Planted Onions, Finished
Cutting this day Halling wood Henry
Plowing in Tobacco Lot below spring
Lila Plowing for corn weather moderate
Cutting up old Trees & etc for wood to mal

12 We are Halling leaves to day & sent waggon
to shop to Iron ps steel & Iron & other things yesterday striped
Tobacco in prize barn & since the 5th we have been
Plowing on Branch & high land for corn & malling
cleaning up in new ground
