Sat July 9 Another danged poor hay day rained some about 2 O clock. Mother and I went to town got back about noon. The boys irrigated and chored around this forenoon and this afternoon we all worked at the hay on the north end of the 10 acre piece and got it all shocked up nicely just at quitting time.

Sun July 10 Mostly clear and quite warm. We irrigated some got the piece over on the hill and the piece north of the barn done and part of the corn. We I mean Mother and I went over to Mr CV Howards and got some strawberries 1 crate for $2.25. When we came home we found Mr and Mrs Cyrus Buffum and Mr Williams here had quite a good visit with them.

Mon July 11 Mostly clear and quite warm. Lew and Jake hauled 8 loads of hay from the 10 acre piece. Kib raked and bunched the 2 pieces by the windy hill house and shocked some in the afternoon. I finished the cutting up at the Birdsall place and got done just at noon and then in the afternoon irrigated some and sundry other chores and shocked some.

Tues July 12 Another such a day as we have been used to. Some clear and some cloudy and a little rain at noon. As usual Jake went to town in the forenoon and in the afternoon helped stack. Mr Allkyer helped stack this forenoon and Kib and this afternoon Kib shocked some. They stacked 8 loads. I mowed up on the windy hill place east of the oats. Helen came out again to day. I think she likes us pretty well.

Wed July 13 Clear cloudy and rainy had two quite smart showers between 4 and 6 O clock PM. Lew and Jake hauled 4 loads of hay. Kib done sundry odd chores in the forenoon and in the afternoon he raked on the windy hill piece east of the oats. I mowed this forenoon and this afternoon I irrigated some and fixed my truss and then went up to windy hill and shocked until it rained.

Thurs July 14 It didnt rain but it looks lots like it right now. Lew and Jake hauled 2 loads of hay from this side of the house besides we done lots of chores and shocked up a good lot of nice hay. I put in lots of my time irrigating to day and this afternoon I have been shocking.

Fri July 15 Not much good hay weather. It kept still and damp all the fore part of the day and about 4 O clock it commenced to rain and we got a large shower that rained about 1/2 an inch on the level. Lew and Jake hauled 4 loads of hay from the two little pieces near the house. Kib helped them some and then he raked some and helped me at shocking. I mowed in the forenoon and finished it after dinner and then shocked till it rained.

Sat July 16 No rain to speak of but everything pretty wet in the morning. Lew went in the morning and got his mare at Carsends. Jake fixed his harness. I mowed the wild oats up at windy hill and Kib and I irrigated the potatoes in the afternoon. The boys all worked at haying and Mother and I went down to Dotts's and staid [stayed] over night.

Sun July 17 Pleasant but quite warm some of the time and looked like rain some. The boys raked and put up the hay that needed it and Lew hitched up his colt and is very much pleased with her. Mother and I had a very pleasant visit and got home safe and sound just as it was fairly dark.

Mon July 18 Clear in the morning but it sprinkled a little just before sundown. Lew and Jake hauled 3 loads of hay this forenoon and Kib helped them some besides churning and turning some shocks. Jake got a stitch in him and laid off this afternoon. Lew and Kib hauled 3 loads of hay this afternoon. I mowed all day but got along awful slow somehow.
