Sun Sept 9 A cold raw wind especially towards
night. Lew and Mary came along about noon
and we went over to Franks. Had a nice little
visit and we are enjoying the time visiting
and looking at some new Montgomery
Ward and Co's catalogues of carriages and
furniture.

Mon Sept 10 Clear and pretty and no
frost this morning. We fixed the fence that
runs down to the lake from the corner of the
wheat field to keep the cattle from going around.
John went to town this afternoon and took
over some fruit and I spread out oats upon
the windy hill place.

Tues Sept 11 A fine day. Johny
gathered some fruit and went to town with it.
I worked at the oats up at windy hill.

Wed Sept 12 Very nice day.
Mr Marsh helped us to day [today] and we mowed in
the orchard this forenoon and worked at the
oats this afternoon. The boys hauled and stacked
thre [three] loads and I finished shocking it.
Mr John Armstrong and wife were here
to day [today]. They seem to think well of our place.

Thurs Sept 13 A little too windy
this afternoon in fact it was all day. Marsh and John
finished stacking the oats in the forenoon and picked
fruit this afternoon for Mr Blackmer and Johny has
gone to town with 300 lbs of crabs [crabapples] and plums for him.
I chored this forenoon and mowed on the 10 acre
piece this afternoon.
