Tues Oct 16 Fine again to day [today]. Johny and Marsh got the corn all hauled. Got done about quitting time. I fixed the corn shocks ready to haul this forenoon and this afternoon I dug potatoes.

Wed Oct 17 Very nice again to day [today]. Johny went up to his Mothers and brought down three calves that I had bought of her. I fixed the ditch so as to water the cattle up on the 10 acre piece and then done some draining over on the other side of the place where we want to turnpike it and then went over to Charleys and got 4 pigs.

Thurs Oct 18 Some wind this morning but nice this afternoon. Johny and I fixed the fence so as to keep cattle out of the field down below the potato patch. Then we went to town and brought out 2,560 lbs of coal and done sundry other odd jobs and got home just at chore time.

Friday Oct 19 Oh how nice and warm to day [today]. We went up to windy hill and left coal distributee [distributed] around for threshing and left some down by the grain carrell [corral] then we husked sweet corn for the pigs until noon then dug potatoes in the afternoon.

Sat Oct 20 Not quite so pleasant but pretty fair. We fixed the fence where it crosses the big ditch and this afternoon we done some odd jobs of plowing for covering the raspberries and burying the apples and potatoes and helped Marsh about cleaning up his beans and we made some steps for the west door of the grainery.

Sun Oct 21 Pretty and clear but a cold wind. We that means Mother Meda and Arthur Bush and I went up to Harry Dixons visited until about one O clock then came home and at night Lew came. He staid [stayed] all night and is going to try to find two missing calves in the next two days if he can.

Mon Oct 22 Quite a good day for working. Lew rode Dexter and started for the Spring Canion [Canyon] country to look for a couple of calves that strayed away last summer. One is his the other mine. Johny went home this morning to help Will get some wood for his Mother. I dug potatoes and picked most of them up. They turned out pretty well especially in small ones.

Tues Oct 23 Clear still and quite warm. I dug potatoes to day [today] and Mrs Randall and Bertie picked them up. We got away with 26 rows. Most of them were very nice.

Wed Oct 24 Another fine day. We dug potatoes. They were not so good to day [today] but there is a good many very fine ones among them.

Thurs Oct 25 Good day again. We finished digging and picking up the potatoes to day [today].

Fri Oct 26 Awful nice. I done some little odd jobs and some trimming raspberry bushes. Frank brought over some of Lews cows 6 of them and 5 calves to have us keep them a few days until Lew gets moved so that he can attend to them.

Sat Oct 27 Cloudy and some cooler than it has been lately. I finished triming [trimming] the raspberry bushes and have got water running on to the raspberrys and strawberries and have the apples and potatoes covered up nicely.

Sun Oct 28 Clear cold and very windy so we kept Sunday pretty close. Hans Anderson was over here and made us a nice visit which we enjoyed very much. Lew and Mary were here and spent the evening. They brought over to Mother 14 chickens which they did not want to move over to Andersons. I tried to irrigate some in the orchard but the wind stopped the water so I will have to wait a day or so may be [maybe].

Mon Oct 29 Clear but pretty cold and the wind blew pretty hard too. I finished irrigating the lower orchard all but the plum patch and husked sweet corn besides what time I could get.

Tues Oct 30 Clear and fine. I husked sweet corn. Lew and Dan McBride came and got Lews cows and calves only he took one of mine and left one of his that sucked.

Wed Oct 31 Cloudy and most too much wind for our business. Mr Helm came at noon and we have been threshing alfalfa seed this afternoon. Threshed out the stack by the house and will have a little over 20 bushels of seed from it. Mr Dixon and Harry Sims co and Mr Marsh was helping and there is three men with the machine.
