A beautiful day.

Willie Mayhew and Ben Brumfield started to South Boston this evening with Paul Bennetts tobacco and some for Marvin Smith. That is all the tobacco that they have to sell.

Jim cut wood all day. Owen plowed this evening.

Josie went to see Mollie Reynolds this evening.

Franklin has been feeling bad to day. Janie Brumfield come with Henry home to night from school. They are having a big time tonight.

I had a letter from John Brumfield to day.

A bad day. There was more snow on the ground than had bin this winter. It is all gone to night.

Josie ironed this evening.

Jim & Ben went to Renan this evening. Mr. Owen & Board Dews went to Mr. Jessie Mays sale. Marvin Smith bought Kate Harvey two pigs to day. He bought them from Robert Starkey. I am so glad that he could get them.

Franklin is sick I am afraid. He is so cross.

Henry did not go to school to day.

A cloudy day and raining to night. The men folks cut until twelve then Jim & Ben hauled some stalks and corn.

Josie & Ben and Franklin went to Jim Powers. Henry & I staid at home all the morning then Henry went to Marvins and I went to Owens.

To night Ben & Marvin has gone to the lodge at Strait Stone I know they will get wet. Josie says she has never seen the roads as bad as they were today. Reese Smith has bought him a bycicle.

Johnson Reynolds has gone to Norfork to see Julia Fergerson. I feel like I know how glad she will be to see him. I hope he will see John B.

A good day. The men folks cut wood until twelve. Ben carried Josie to Long Island this evening, Her mother met her and they started for W Virginia Max Carr was going with them part of the way. Edna & Franklin went to Marvins this evening. I went and come with them back.

Henry went to school.

Ben says that the roads is very bad. Johnson and Christinia Reynols come from Norfork this evening. Reubin met them at the Island

A cool windy day the men folks put on the canvas for their plant beds this morning and cut & mauled this evening.

Kate Harvey come a few minutes to day. She eat dinner with us. She brought me some homony. I went with her part the way home. I carried Edna & Franklin to Marvins and Carrie looked after them while I went to Posie Reynolds and got some turnip salit.

We heard to day that Tom Lumpkins and Tom Johnson was dead, one of them at Danville and one at New Port News. Johnson Reynolds went to Danville to be at Lumpkins burial.

Jim got a letter from Nellie telling him that Mr Walker is very sick.

Jim & Ben walked over to the store at Renan to night. Mr Lewis was not there so they come home soon and went to bed.

10 oclock

I finished pickin the 1919 crop of cotton to night.
