A colde morning. Ice plenty by twelve. It was pleasant.

The men folks shucked some corn and hauled it up. Hauled the storks[sic] and cut them up.

Ben went to Renan after oil. Edna & Franklin went with him. Ben had a card from Josie. She was on her way to W Va. I hope she may have a good time. We certainly do miss her & will be so glad when she gets back.

A good day. Ben & Owen hauled wood. Jim cleaned up the brush in the orchard.

Edna & Franklin and I went to Marvins. I cut some salit as I come home. Marvin was plowin; the first time the land has bin dry enough in a long time. Marvin & Carrie went to Strait Stone yesterday. They bought several things. Kate stayed with the little children while they were gone.

A cloudy cool day. Ben plowed. Jim fixed up the grape vines at the garage and plowed over his potatoe patch. Bettie Rosser ironed here today.

Mr Dews carried his car to Gretna this morning.

Ben had a letter from Josie. She wants to come home tomorrow. I wont be surprised if there is snow by morning.

Lee is in Danville with his last tobacco. Otie Kellie and several others went to Chatham today.

Edna & Franklin has bin in doors all day today.

Cloudy all day & rain tonight. The men folks shucked some corn this morning & hauled up the stalks this evening.

Ben & Jim went to the Island. Jim went on to Chatham. Ben went to meet Josie. He phoned home that she had not come to Cedar Forest. He is down there somewhere now. Henry went to Marvins this evening. He come home & got in the wood for to night.

We fed the horses & cows & pigs and calves & chickens & dogs. Edna & Franklin has bad colds tonight and I am very sorry a bout it. Denia come to see me this evening. I was glad that she come but was sorry to see [her]go home in the rain.

I am so afraid that something bad has happened to Mrs Car or Josie or both.

A partly cloudy day Ben & Owen hauled tobacco stalks and shucked two shocks of corn. Ben went to the mill got home after dark.

Kate Harvey come down here a while. I went to Carries a few minutes then cut some salit.

Josie staid at home all day. Franklin tried to ride the tricicle nearly all day. Miss Salie Strange and Effie Brumfield went to Mr Willie Mayhews tonight. Edna went to school to day. 9 oclock.
