To the Honorable the President and Members of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Seattle

Gentlemen

The undersigned property- owners and tax-payers respectfully ask your Hon Body to order the construction of a sewer on Cedar Street from Fourth Street to Water Street thence along Water Street to a connection with the sewer on Vine Street. A good many buildings have been erected on Cedar Street others are under construction or contemplated. Said sewer to be constructed at the expence of the City of Seattle and not at the expense of abutting property. Hoping your Hon Body will act without delay in that matter we remain respectfully yours.

At the regular meeting of the Board of Health it was decided to recommend to the favorable Consideration of your Honorable Body The petition of Chas Hart et al for a sewer on Ceder St from Fourth to Water and on Water Street to a connection with the Public sewer on Vine St as said was deemed necessary to public health in that vicinity.

I David T Denny of Seattle Left side of page notes King County W T would represent to the Hon Council of the City of Seattle Blk B R to $50 per lot that all the lots in Blocks A & B in my 6th addition to Seattle are assessed at three hundred dollars Blk 93 Lts 1 2 3 R to $150 per lot each, and the lots so described are entirely covered with water and Blk 94 Lts 1 2 3 R to $150 per lot therefore at the present time are very much less valuable than those on the land which are assessed at the same price. Also lots 1 - 2 - 3 in Block 93 in D T Denny 1M addition also lots 1 - 2 - 3 in Block 94 in same add are water lots and assessed too high also part of Lot 1 and the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Sec 29 T 25 NE 4 E is too high and in consequence theseof I do hereby present this as my written protest to and against said valuations. To the Honorable the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle Gentlemen!-- Whereas, There was presented to your honorable body on Jan. 24th 1893, a petition praying that Lake Avenue be vacated from John Street to Mercer Street, which petition alleges as a reason for said vacation that Lake Avenue was diagonally to the streets already laid out in that district. Now, Therefore, we, the undersigned owners of property abutting on and adjacent to Lake Avenue, do hereby emphatically protest against the vacation of said Avenue, for the following reasons:-- 1.-- The avenue running as it does diagonally from the Bay to the Lake Union, instead of being a detriment, is in our opinion, a great public convenience as it affords the only direct route from the Bay to the Lake (as will be more readily seen by reference to the map of the City) and will, when graded, establish one of the finest drives in Seattle, The Avenue being eighty feet wide, of comparatively easy grade, and
