Be it remembered that on this the 29th day of October A. D. 1890 the Board of Aldermen of the City of Seattle meets pursuant to adjournment and after recess: in the New City Hall.

Prest Geo. W. Hall in the Chair. At roll call the following members are present Bogardus Holbrook Korn Miller Pontius Snyder Wald Wilcox Mr. Prest H. W. Miller City Clerk:

The following proceedings are had. Minutes of the last Meeting read and approved.

The President excused Alderman Bogardus for the evening on account of sickness in his family.

Petition of Jane White et al for repairs to 8th Street made necessary by defective grading, of said 8th St. near []Yesler]] Avenue. Read and referred to the Street Committee.

Petition of Mrs. Lou Graham for widening of sidewalk on 4th and Washington Sts. Read and referred to the Street Committee.

Petition of Tuen M. Sing for permit to run a Laundry at the intersection of Commercial St. and track of the Terminal Railway. Read and referred to the Com. on Health & Police.

Petition of S. G. Benedict et al for lights corner Stewart and 21st Street. Read and referred to the Com. on Street Lights.

Petition of G. F. Ware et al for st. lights on the cross sts. from Kentucky to Elliott Sts.and Broadway St. Read and ref to St. Light Committee.

35 Board of Aldermen of the City of Seattle

[left margin] Nov 3rd 1890 [/left margin]

The Special Committee of Garbage reported as follows: We recommend 1st. For immediate purposes that the Garbage Scow Service be increased to three trips daily and that one extra laborer be employed to assist the present employee.

2nd. Recommending the consideration of proposals to be made relating to the disposal of garbage.

3rd. The Committee have advised with Dr. Coe and have the matter under consideration and ask for longer time before reporting a praticable system to be adopted.

4th. That they have opened up a correspondence with Health Officers of Eastern Cities. Report read and adopted and same sent to H of D for concurrent action.

Petition of Tuen M. Sing for Laundry at the intersection of Commercial St. with the track of the Terminal Railway Co responded favorably on by the Committee on Health and Police. Report adopted and sent to H of D for concurrent action.

The Committee on Health & Police recommend that T. J. Burke be given assistance and motion made authorizing Mayor White to assist said petitioner. Carried.

The Committee on Health and Police Report: That they have examined the reports of Justice Miller and Justice Rivers for the month of October 1890 as submitted and find them Correct. Report read and adopted & sent to H of D for concurrent action.
