Seattle 2nd Nov 1891 Department of Public Parks Report on progress of work. "Kinnear Park" since last report there has been 1155 lineal feet of walk graded 10 feet wide. 274 lineal feet of walk covered with gravel and 4700 square yds of grounds prepared for lawn and shrubs. The upper portion of the park is nearly completed as far as we can until it is settled whether we shall include Clover St which would make a slight difference in the plan as to the entrance at the corner of Clover St and Olympic Avenue. The street dept is putting in the gutter along Bluff St as requested. "City Park" The portion cleared for the nursery is about ready to be ploughed after which it will be necessary to put some kind of a fence around it to keep out stray cattle. In the propagating benches are have the following cuttings and seeds. (List attached) I would like to be allowed to send for hardy bulbs for early spring planting 500 Anemone coronaria 500 Ranunculus 500 Anemone fulgens 250 Lilium 500 Roman Hyacinths 100Amaryllis 500 tulips. Yours Respectfully James Taylor

I never asked them to put up the pipe for me but on the contrary they agreed to lend me the necessary tools so I could do the work with my own men, but they sent out a man who in my absence put up the pipe instead of doing their own part of the work viz: enlarging the aperture The amound I have allowed for putting together less than 200 feet of 4" pipe is $20.00 I consider quite liberal. The smoke stack and tinners bill is outrageous. I could have built a brick chimney for half the money. Yours Respectfully James Taylor, Supdt

"City Park"

With the exception of the men necessary to run the teams the entire force is now employed in this park, clearing and grubbing.--- I have excavated and built an underground tank f or water for temporary use, 8 ft. x 8 x 11 deep. capacity 4000 gallons.---

As we are already very much crowded for room in the propagating house, I would like to be authorized to erect a lath house for protecting and hardening off plants from the hot house. Cost $50.---

I am yours respectfully James Taylor
