Some rain this morning. Ben and Josie and the children and Paul went to preaching at Strait Stone.
I staid at home and got dinner. This evening Ben went to Mr Dews and played croquet.
Josie and the children and I went to Marvins. Paul went to Lee Brumfields and has not got home yet.

Tuesday, July 30, 1918
Rain this morning. A good evening.
Josie got dinner. Had butter beans the first from our garden. This evening Dews and Mayhew and Ben and Paul played croquet all the evening. Kate Harvey come a while and Virginia Harvey and Doris Brumfield come by from Strait Stone.
They had carried one of A J Harveys girls to Mr Thompsons.

Sunday, August 11, 1918
A good day. Clouds a round this evening but no rain here.
We all staid at home to day until about night. Ben went to Carries Thelma and Julia [went] to Reynolds. Mr Mayhew and Mr Dews come. Ben and them played croquet.
Carrie and the children come a few minutes. Marvin brought them on the car.
Mr Owens brother come to see him this evening. I got the first corn from the corn field to day.

Thursday, August 15, 1918
A good day had a little rain this evening. Ben and Paul helped Dews tie leaves this evening. Josie got dinner.
This evening Ben carried us to Marvins. We helped Carrie can grape juice and tomatoes. Mrs Wooding and Virginia Smith and Virginia Wooding come to Carries a few minutes this evening.
Paul Bennett has gone to Jim Reynolds to a party to night. Ben lone him his car. I hope that nothing wont happen to it.
Marvin brought us home this evening.

Wednesday, August 21, 1918
A good day. Ben and Paul worked at home until twelve then went to Mr Dews and tied leaves.
Josie washed a big washin of clothes. This evening Mag Brumfield and four of the children come. I was glad that they did come her baby is just fine. Carrie and the little girls come. I was glad that she could get off. Marvin and the boys went to Altavista.
It was night when they got home.
