7:30 And now I can make another decision again. Should I bay on margin? I'm glad I didn't before, instead taking a middle ground of holding

BUY MORE ON MARGIN. HOLD ONTO WHAT YOU HAVE. SELL SOME, DIVERSIFY TO CASH. I DID THIS BECAUSE I HAVE LT EXPECTIONS FROM MICROSOFT, YET DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE THE MOST RISK, NOR LESS RISK.

BUT WHAT'S SO FIXED ABOUT HAVING 95% OF MY ASSETS IN MS? JUST BECAUSE IT TAKES NO ACTION. WHICH HAS BEEN ALL THAT'S POSSIBLE UNTIL THE S.E.C. PERIOD ENDED OCT 10. AND NOW IN NO TIME, I'M MISTAKEN.

7:45 Dinner at Coce's. Spaghetti.

8:30 Try to find or decide where to stay. Note a number of unhappy memories

Marriott NB - Sep 84 after being locked out of Dick + Pat's + hustled off to LB. Calvin Marcus that night. 104 the next day

Surf + Sand - July '84 - when I wanted Glen but couldn't get him. I left in such a huff to San Diego, where I had little fun. Also having computer there. Bizarre. Greg Vail too, followed by guy I picked up after having dinner with Tim Hocking.

Costa Mesa Inn

July '83 after I left Tim at Newport Station + found nothing at Boom Boom + went home in my Labaron Con'le, but Tim not home.

Sep '85 after I left Dick + Pat's on Sunday Evening (?) same weekend that I went home with that guy in Bel Air, who sent me home Sun Morn.

Moridian - July 4 '86 Not a bad trip but it probably got me off to bad start w/Bill F, and Expo 86

This prompts me to think of all my trips to S. California over 82-87 and out of all, few are fond memories

They dealt more with techniques than with technical details. READING CHAP 12 [yellow highlight] was one of the most informative letting me know what's important to success in animation. As I stated in "Strategy for the Second Half of 89". Its a very similar situation to what I felt in trying to be musically expressive. [yellow highlight] 5:00 Go to Irvine for frozen yogurt. Irvine seems so long ago, and so primative to what I am now. Ugh. Back to Red Lion. Finish chap 12, and write up this afternoon. 6:30 Relax. Call Schuab recording DOW+ 186. Change to eans + flannel shirt. Realize I'm tired of reading technical books [yellow highlight] and if I do any more such stuff, it should be in the form of a tutoria, ala Prolog. [black ink] KEY As when I finished Algorithmic Image a year ago, I sense a lack of desire to do Animation Work, just because it uses a computer is no reason to work on it. I wouldn't be interested in animation otherwise. [yellow highlight][boxed in red ink] 7:00 Out to dinner at Wendys. Look for movie, but end up just driving around a lot. Got Gas. So I saw all of O.C.'s memories the ones I used to live in, not just Laguna Beach.Decide not to go see Glen Cram. Not that good a friend- jealousy. Uncomfortable around him, looks, clothes + pradishness +haircut + zits (my). It's not something I want [underline] to do. At Studio 1: "Come down + we can comiserate together" about not having boyfriends. "Come down + help no plant palm trees". Not much interest in talking with me. Awkward the last time. 9:00 Watch news + some "Singing in rain". 9:30 Relax 10:00 Read Chap 14 of "Animation" Future. Shower. 11:00 This trip to OC I have spent weekdays [underline] (nonholiday) for first time in the last six years. It's pleasant, but a little too [underline] quiet. No gay gyms. It was [underline] appropriate in 80 + 81. But not anymore. [yellow highlight] And Glen lives here now. Also now that, I've done app interface for Works, I won't program [underline] anything more like it.

IMPORTANT

That is, I will not

code in C

at that level - ie, user input/output. Instead I should use an app to create something. This is analogous to leaving assembler in which I created languages, to move on to using a language (C) to create applications. Now use apps in process of what I work on...So I wouldn't want to create an animation tool, but use one if I were interested. So try to find some tool I want to use for something. (turned out to be Excel!)

7:30 Get up. Breakfast at Windmill. WSJ.

9:15 Still somewhat bugged about not going to see Glen last night, so go see where he lives, his neighborhood, etc. Drove over via East Side of 405, noting "Executive Plaza," what a lovely name. Then drive down MacArthur and again it feels very boring, uninspiring. No good fast food places like Rax or Wendys, and no quaint places like Athens pizza, or even a Shakeys. Lots of expensive places like Chantaclair, and ho-hum stamparts: Coco's is big. Maybe it would just take me time to adjust, as after move to Seattle. Anyway, drive out University, noting conformity of style, with variations. Turtle Rock Pointe is very nice with pink + peach stucco, terracotta roof, roses. And there were some nice views, of hills and of the city of Newport. Not a grocery store to be seen. Just University Center, very suburban.

SUN JULY 7

Feeling fine this morning. Woke up early. Couldn't sleep late, but waited for Bruce to wake up and the jerked him off. Great.

Then we went to Breakfast at some dump, but food was good. Went out to where the houses were all burnt. Only the chimney remained of some and there was a fiberglass car that was melted. No tires or body left!

Then I drove us to Laguna. Pointer Sisters and Tina Turner. Not much conversation, but that was ok. Bought groceries and went out to Beach, laid around and then Glen walked by and I called him over. Lookin Great. Bill Sawyer was there too, but still sounding as "dumb jock" as ever. George Smith also. I should know you definitely can't evaluate people at that beach. I'm sure different there.

There were some STUNNING guys there. It was Laguna, but more comfortable, maybe because all the social parties were over, and this was last day of the July 4th Holiday. Sunday was first good day of sun.

Then around 4:30 Bruce + I drove over to Ruby Street + up the Hill to

10:00 Start to read current MSoft Sys Journal. Feels good to read something technical. Call Mexicana: No 1st class. No penalty on 3-day adv. Call Tarl about Patrick loan, letter to executor. Continue MSJ: Vecter fonts. Think about programming at MSoft again. Would I fit in? would it be too "Deja Vu?" But I DO have lots of experience in programming that I'd like to utilize somehow. And in finance too.
