It will soon be a year since I left home, and, being away from the scene of action, I have had more time to consider and think over plans for the future. On the 21st of June Mr. Stanford will have been gone from earth-life eight years, and in that time I have had a great deal of experience in the affairs of the University, and I have concluded to limit the number of students, for I find, on the part of many connected with the Institution, an ambition to increase the number of students - as they express it "to ten thousand" in the future. This I think is a great mistake.

The subject on the front is to be a copy of the famous picture by Ciccere, called the "Entombment".
