15 Finished Cutting little growth in Small new ground this day - cloudy

19 Cutting & Halling wood Sent Henry Monday 17th to Mr Hunts for Iron to put on waggon wheels,
20th Cutting wood to burn plant Beds above our House & gone after waggon at shop weather Cold but fair, N my D. gone to MrsColeman
21 & 22nd Burnt & finished plant Bed above House, Largest one
23rd Beautiful day Sunday
24 Cutting up old Logs in new ground began to mall, treading out Buck wheat, cloudy & like for Rain 4 of our sows has 22 Pigs this day
25 cloudy this morning, sent Henry to mill with 20 Logs, Balance striping Tobacco sent 3 Bbl corn 2½ Bus. Buck wheat & ½ Bus for Homminy Finished striping new ground Barn done all but prize Barn - wood etc

June 1st Send for Doct Andrew Thompson yesterday to see Cate who has the mumphs Bad,- Jordan Plowing Hester to day working in Garden triming cotton, weeding corn we are all getting wood this morning – cloudy & like for Rain finished Plowing fresh field at mountain last week & finished weeding there yesterday also Hilling 2nd yrs Tobacco Land Henry started to Lynchg 30th monday morning with a Hhd of Second rate Tobacco also Mrs McCullockswaggon & got back wednesday before night, broke his waggon Tongue & made another at Scags
4th June we have been weeding & Plowing corn Johns’s field this week 4 Plows since Henry got from Lynchg dry & warm this week Young Pink had a Bull calf this week at stony, put Red in Pasture to have a calf
5. went to Burial of Miss Julia Danl this day Cate sick with mumphs yet Jacob went to FW
6th Plowing & weeding far End of Johns’s field nearly over once Plowing - cloudy & like for rain this morning - warm weather
10 we have been planting Tobacco 2 days & have finished planting all but a little corner of the Lot Turned off very cool & dry Beded & Planted Lot Lot yesterday Plowed Cotton Potatoes etc Patch & Cotton Patch Plowing corn by Johns Spring & then Gaunoed this morning 4 Plows runing - —Buck little Henry Jerry Smith & Fannie has measles Bad.

19 yesterday & to day thrashing wheat Doct Thompsons machine, working Lot Tobacco Toping Tobacco etc etc finished & Carried away saturday machine
21 my wife gone to Mrs Hunts to go to Charlotte in morning & Jacob & Sallie, I went to day to Riceville to see Doct Thompson & carrd Jerry Smith about his Jaw
25 Halling up Logs for Barn Hewing yesterday & day before & cleaning Out place for House Mr Irby Just finished shingling about 12 Oclock working Out Our Second Yrs Land of Tobacco. went yesterday upon On River for Mrs clements Doct Thompson Came by here called from Mr Lewis to Jerry Smith cloudy & like for Rain
27 Toped wormed & succored Tobacco togot over day all Halled up some House logs I paid $3 for our church to association which is not paid to me — gave to Brother Hagood in association for Preaching to Bufaloe $2, & $1 missionary society – - -
31st Halling Logs to saw mill to day - Succoring Tobacco over, cutting stacks etc
sept 1st Cutting stacks & getting Plates & Joist for barn Shrubing in fresh ground, I am going to Mrs McCullocks to Settle with Adkinson & Divide Oats etc

1856 Friday 11th Breaking up Balance of Lot for Toba Henry Bedding on Branch for Corn finished Coltering this morning on branch & Jordan got over new ground one way & began to Crop Dry & windy - tolerable moderate, Doct Thompson come 3rd time to see clem = 12th Sent Lowry to Mr Neals to Plow further Sandy Bedding flat Land on Johns branch Henry coltering & laying off fresh ground Balance Hilling in fresh ground clem Sick yet give Pal a dose Physic& windy clear
13 Croping new ground Beding on Branch coltering and Hilling fresh ground I went to the trial of Colo Smiths warrant against Mitchell & Templeton, Clem yet very sick & Pal complaining
13 13 Doct Thompson has been 4 times to see clem Sent 2 Letters by him to PO one to Capt Boxley & one to Cobbs of Lynchg Jerry & Jacob gone to Fannies dry & weathermoderate
14 Went to help Crews Roll his Logs Abram gone from home Coltering & Hilling at Second years ground Jordan gone to Coltering in new ground crossing after we come from crews, Sandy Harrowing Corn Land fine weather except & Cooldry Finished coltering & Laying off Second yrs Land Laying off Corn Land on Johns Branch
15 Laying off corn ground & will try & begin to Plant Kitty taken sick this morning clem Just Jerry Smith & Pal both Laid up, Doct T. was not by yesterday moderate dry weather – Doct Thompson came again to day this is 5th Planted oregon Peas at [water stains] this time & Pepper at Plan [water stains]

16th cloudy this day & like for Rain, we are planting Corn for part of Johns’s field Kity still in house Jerry Smith better & Pal too, - Clem is mending slowly, Planted Snaps in On Johns s branch & Pea Patch Planted yesterday Simblings etc etc, Doct Thompson come to day making 6 times to see Clem, Rained a little sprinkle to day
17th Planting Corn in Johns s field to day A light sprinkle rain last night moderate weather
18th Fine morning Planting corn to day I want to go to Riceville got 2 Pigs from Fannies last Sunday Jordan & Sandy brot home them Clem & Pal getting Better Kitty & Jerry Smith is better — Went to Riceville etc 19th Did not get done Johns’s field Planting Corn finishing this morning except flat Land & fresh ground at stony point Sandy gone there to Plowing for Corn, Jordan Coltering in new ground Henry Bedding on spring Branch,- Balance gone to Hilling in fresh ground Doct T has been 6 times to see clem & she is mending slowly & so is Pal. —— Rained in evening began to Hill in new to dayground
20th cloudy this morning Sent for Doct Thomp= =son to see clem, making 7 times If he comes
21st went to Court & fix & Sent James McCullocks Decd Bond Due Jer. McCullocks Decd Est to AV McKee Troy mo to Collect for $420 due 1st March 1840 — Plowing on Branch & Coltering & Hilling in new ground Sandy Plowing at Stony point for Corn In evening & about Rained & Snowed Smartly & quite a cold day Clem getting better Kitty & Jerry Smith Still sick Fannie [water stain] a day or Two ago.
