1851 Dec. Memorandum of business Done for Mrs Lucy Ann Clements & her as Guardian for Nannie & Lucy C Clements also ——— During the past Summer I went to Court House I think about 3 times about Mr James Clements account – also Rec^d $3 for collecting money of Ezekiel Dews & JW on Bond from Grasty -

24th & 25th Dec. I went to see Mr E. Franklin about Mary & her children, also to Rich^d Smiths to collect for Rent got none also to see Geo. A P Dove to Rent him the Place where he lives for 1852 also to Collect for 1851 but did not get any money = 1852 March 12th I commenced this morning before day to adg[lost in margin] Lucy Anns Grdn acct but could do it till she came in evening then fixed it, for settlement by Comr say engaged best part of the day & part of the night

22nd went to Court in part for Lucy Ann & others

Augt Court 1852 Saw Mr Franklin about [Keeping] Mary & children for next year — made no bargain y[et]

Augt 31st went to see about childrens Land on River got back late Bed time

1853 Augt 25 Went to Rent Land & Collect Rent all day & in the night

Feby¹⁸⁵⁴ I have been 4 or 5 times to vaughans to attend to suit against Rich^d Smith for Mrs Clements. Rented out the Place where Dove lives to Tho^s Walker etc went to see Mr Brooks about Eliza

Dec 14 went to Mrs Clements millers [Snows?] Dove & Franklins for Lucy-Ann - Lucy Ann Clement Give me this day $12 - for attending to her business etc. 

1854 augt 24th worming & succoring new ground & lot to day again, Cloudy & like for Rain

25th augt worming & succoring fresh ground, Sewed Rye in Lot Sandy Harrowing etc Henry getting shingles, Jordan gone to Yates mill etc clear & warm - my Sam left last Monday when I went to Court = 29 Just getting Shingles in woods towards fresh ground at Dinner time & F Wyatt Jointing & Henry to Halling up &

30 to rounding about 10 Oclock working little Tobacco in Corn field finished worming succoring & toping this morning over clear & fair = F. Wyatt Jointing all day this day & began yesterday evening —

Sept 5th Have been pulling fodder ever Since last week & worming Tobacco put nearly 8 stacks Blades nearly done pulling in fresh field Clear fine weather we are worming & succoring Tobacco over now began yesterday, Henry commences getting Shingles opposite Crews to day at 12 Oclock =

Sept 9th Rained to day a days pulling fodder on ground went to Ezekiel Dews yesterday, worming & succoring Tobacco in 3rd years ground & in my Lot —

11 Tying up Fodder & worming Tobacco & gathering Peas -

12 Put Top on new Barn, = 23 Finished Pulling fodder Cutting Tops & Stacking fodder, & worming & succoring over over Tobacco & have cut about 2300 stacks & Housed old prizing Barn full, pretty weather Sunday started at Strait Stone about this time

1855 Augt 25th Sent 3. large Logs to Mr E Dews Saw Mill to day - 2 for weather boarding & 1 for Sheeting plank 2 . 12 feet long & 1 Bigest 14 feet – Sent by waggon Jordan carried 2 small ones 10 feet long 1 short sheeting one for square Edge plank - making 5 logs in all

Oct. Sent 2 to Yates saw mill one for square edged Plank Inch thick Sent to Yates 4 more Logs. 6 in all –

10th Sent one Log for sheeting to Ezekiel Dews saw mill & got 150 feet square edged Plank

15 Sent another Log to mr Dews & got 150 or 60 feet Bark Edged sheeting

29th Sent 2 more Logs to Yates Saw mill for Granary Shed floors for meal & flour

3rd Decr Cart Car^d one more for Hh^d staves waggon Carr^d 2 more logs for Yates one Long & 1 short ^{last Thursday} The one Carr^d this morning to be sawed into Scantling 3 by 4 for Tobacco House – – making 13 logs up to this time - 4th waggon carried 2 long logs for Rafters etc for Tobacco. Cart Carried 2 for making weather boarding making 17. at Yates & 7 or 9 at Dews

5th Sent 2 more this morning 1 for Rafters for tobacco House one for weather boarding

Feby 22 Carr^d this week to Yates 4 Large Hart Logs for Paling Railings for garden

March 6 Burnt Plant Bed & sewed it on Road p^t of it without burning, lower end, with Guano alone, Plowing, & Covering all my Beds with Brush at this time,
