A good day. The men folks cut wood until twelve. Ben carried Josie to Long Island this evening, Her mother met her and they started for W Virginia Max Carr was going with them part of the way. Edna & Franklin went to Marvins this evening. I went and come with them back.

Henry went to school.

Ben says that the roads is very bad. Johnson and Christinia Reynols come from Norfork this evening. Reubin met them at the Island

Cloudy all day & rain tonight. The men folks shucked some corn this morning & hauled up the stalks this evening.

Ben & Jim went to the Island. Jim went on to Chatham. Ben went to meet Josie. He phoned home that she had not come to Cedar Forest. He is down there somewhere now. Henry went to Marvins this evening. He come home & got in the wood for to night.

We fed the horses & cows & pigs and calves & chickens & dogs. Edna & Franklin has bad colds tonight and I am very sorry a bout it. Denia come to see me this evening. I was glad that she come but was sorry to see [her]go home in the rain.

I am so afraid that something bad has happened to Mrs Car or Josie or both.

A good day. Mrs Farme & Mollie Reynolds and come from Howard Fergersons at Portsmoth this morning.

Julia Fergerson went with us to the depot. Our fare a peice was $5 84 cts. We had a good trip up to Long Island. Julia gave us a nice lunch to take with us and Mr Farmer bough some fruit so we had plenty to eat and that was good. Bruce Reynolds met us at the depot and brought us home. I do thank them for carrieing and bringin me home. I found them all well.

Carrie and her little ones was here. I was glad to see them all. I have felt troubled ever since I got home a bout Mrs Johnson and Mrs Hutcherson being so sick. I want to go and see Mrs Hutcherson soon.

I am so glad I am at home a gain.

Cloudy most of the day & a little rain. I woke up at three oclock this morning. Got up at half passed four. Made a fire and went to the spring and then got breakfast fried fish and ham. After breakfast I milked two cows and fed the calf then put on another dress. Ben carried me to Mr Dews. They carried me with them to Long Island fishing. We did not catch any thing worth haveing.

Mrs Dews had a nice dinner. They were all as nice & good to me as any one could ask. Brought me as far as Mr Owens on my way home. I certainly do thank them for their kindness.

Josie & Nellie was here to get dinner and attend to things. Ben went to the mill this evening.

A good day. The men folks worked on their corn land on the branch this evening. Ben carried Mrs Moris of Altavista to Long Island. He was two late. Her train had gone. She went to Mr Bill Owens to stay all night.

Josie got dinner. This evening Kate Harvey & Carrie Smith come a little while. While they were here the calves got in the garden. I was mad and I am a fraid I made some of the rest of them mad. I am very sorry that I got mad. It is two late now.

Marvin was sick this evening. I do hope he is better by now.

I got a check for my little calf to day. It did not amount to much. I am glad of that if it is little.
