A good day until near night there was a thunder cloud and rain.
Ben planted a little corn this evening.
I went to Carries and dressed the baby.
This evening Mrs John Hutcherson come and all the children. The first time she come on a visit this year.
I went to Carries a gain this evening. Mollie Reynolds was there.
We are talking of going to Richmond soon.

A good day.
Ben and family went to Mr Jim Powers and spent the day. Paul Bennett went to Johnson Reynolds.
I staid at home most of the day went to Carries a while this evening.
Kate Harvey was there. She brought Hazel home.
We now intend starting to Richmond in the morning Mollie Reynolds and I.

Monday, May 13, 1918
A good morning rain this evening.
Marvin brought Mollie Reynolds and I to Altavista this morning. We staid at Lynchburg until after three oclock then come to Peters Burg and from there to Richmond.
Willie come after us at the depo. It thundered and rained all the evening.
Some young man helped us with our suitcases I will remember him with pleasure.

Tuesday, May 14, 1918
A rainy morning clear this evening. Effie Brumfield Mollie Reynolds and [I] went in town this evening. Went to see the moving pictures. We went a gain to night. Willie and Mary went with us.
I think Richmond a mighty pretty place.
We went in the green house and looked a round. There is lots of pretty plants there.
This is wrote May the 15th in the morning before breakfast.
Wednesday, May 22, 1918
A good day. Ben finished his tobacco land to day now he is ready for rain.
Mrs Edmons come this morning and staid a few hours.
Alma Bennett come here last night. She made Paul two shirts to day. Josie and I both had a hand in the dinner.
We planted two rows of tomatoes this evening.
I got one doz aster plants today. Effie Brumfield sent them from Richmond.
